Who doesn't want to be married to a hulk? That internet puppy-saving baby alligator wrestler has nothing on my man. Who can lug super heavy tubs of Christmas decorations down from the attic? Who moves furniture at his wife's whim? Kevin "Mad Dog" Patrick, you definitely are the alpha dog in this house (this week).

I cannot take this man anywhere that he isn't swamped with ladies hoping to charm him away. From the crushes to the outright flirtations, he's not the one who needs a gun -- I do! P.S. This image is not photoshopped, it's truly what I put up with when I go out with my eye-candy hubby.

He's the life of the party, the guy with the funny quips and nonsensical trivia facts. He stands out, even minus the goofy glasses, fake mustaches, eyepatches, or pointy hats. 

Kev draws you in. He loves people and people love him. Whether he's Santa, a pirate, a fortune teller, the Easter Bunny, or the "Real McCoys" grandpa, he's a walking party everywhere he goes.

The wrong one of us is wearing headphones when football (or other sports) is on TV. While his headset means I don't have to listen to sports announcers, I still get the full benefit of Kevin's shouted instructions to the team.



(And his advice isn't limited to sports: Kevin is also a committed frontseat-backseat driver when he rides in my car.)

It's great to be married to Senor/Senior Kevin Xavier (pronounced"hav-yair" this week) Patrick. KX is a spicy dude always up for an afternoon siesta or an evening fiesta.



And he's a wise guy with on-the-spot advice: "Don't worry: if it's chili today, it could be hot tamale."

Santa works all year to bring our family gifts because he loves us. He's the perfect husband (ho ho ho), and his eyes do twinkle when he tells punny jokes. He wears specs when he reads, does actually love cookies and milk, and he likes to spread a jolly spirit and bring smiles wherever he goes. We love you, Santa.

Who can fall asleep instantly -- even while his wife is talking to him? That's right, Kevin "Van Wrinkle" Patrick. He's says it's due to Navy training, but I think it's a more recently acquired, greatly practiced skill.

The upside: It gives me opportunity to bring packages into the house unseen -- though I've suspected his real super power is seeing through closed eyelids.

I never should have bought Kevin that bb-gun for Christmas. He never should have fought the law; the law won. He didn't realize, when he checked the organ donor box on his driver's license....
Okay, wearing an eye guard is not funny when it's you. (It's not me -- or you. It's Kevin).This pirate look was a result of elective cataract surgery and Kevin's all healed up now and can see distances much better.

Usually he's the paparazzi victim, and carries my water, but sometimes I convince KXP to get behind the camera, too. When he does, my parazzi hubby is the best. He's helped me photograph everything from tombstones to magazine covers.

Yes, he's smart. And yes, he's made other people smarter during his training career. My hubby has a gift for making people think. In fact, we debate quite often, and sometimes it isn't even about the other one's driving skills (or lack thereof).

This dude loves pizza. Luckily, you can't marry pizza in Wisconsin, the state where we were married, or I might have been his second choice. Like I said, KXP loves pizza. A lot.
