This Week's Book Recommendation: A Confederacy of Dunces

Ignatius J. Reilly, is "huge, obese, fractious, fastidious, a latter-day Gargantua, a Don Quixote of the French Quarter. His story bursts with wholly original characters, denizens of New Orleans' lower depths, incredibly true-to-life dialogue, and the zaniest series of high and low comic adventures". So fun to read.

Apr 4 – 10: We enjoyed Easter dinner, prepared by Georgia, at her and Buddy’s home. Another day, she and I took the ferry and drove to Amelia Island for lunch at Brett’s ocean restaurant. Did some shopping together and another ferry ride back, where I saw a pelican struggling to swallow a big fish! Saw the first hatching of the great egret babies, and the alligators were out in force again at Hanna. Hiked at the beautiful ocean beach twice. Worked in the yard; Kev hired irrigation pros out to cap off some sprinklers for the new deck construction. Florida’s giant winged Palmetto roaches are so freaky! One nearly 2” long tried to join me for a bath. We switched pest control companies and had everything sprayed again from garage to attic to interior walls. Closed out the week with dinner at Ted’s Montana Grill with Buddy and Georgia, followed by Mexican dominoes at our home.
